As the most highly trained pre-hospital emergency care provider, the paramedic accepts the responsibility for immediate patient care. A paramedic must be willing to accept the demanding challenge of this care and direct others to carry out treatment plans. The Paramedic Technician program at South Central College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

The goal of the Paramedic Program is to prepare paramedics who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.

Program Details
Students must possess a minimum of either a National Registry EMT basic certification card or a State of Minnesota EMT basic certification card before beginning and maintain certification throughout the program. Students must also possess a valid drivers license, and current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification to enter and continue through the program.
