Splash is a mascot unlike any otter! The South Central College otter proudly brings a sense of place and belonging to all curious learners and friends of the college. Splash was shaped through collective input from our students, faculty, staff, alumni, neighbors, and partners. The otter embodies the welcoming, adaptable, and clever nature in all of us.
With blue fur and an aquatic spirit, Splash feels right at home with rivers surrounding both our Faribault and North Mankato campuses. Otters look out for one another, thriving in close-knit communities like SCC, where we are deeply committed to care, connection, and shared success. Agile on land and in water, otters are resilient, clever problem-solvers — mirroring the way our students move between learning, hands-on experience, and their careers, supported every step of the way.
