By Tami Reuter, North Mankato Foundation DirectorSCC North Mankato Campus Foundation will award $188,000 in scholarships to South Central College students in the coming academic year! Our selection process is nearly complete, and students will receive their funds at the start of fall semester 2011 and spring semester 2012. A special thank you to our wonderful donors who are helping SCC students achieve their goals! Thanks also to the many volunteers who have assisted with this year’s scholarship selection process. Nearly 300 students applied for scholarships this year.
The 17th annual SCC Foundation Golf Classic will be held Monday, May 23, at the Mankato Golf Club. The registration fee of $125 includes green fees, cart, lunch, and dinner. Golfers may choose to build their own teams or have the committee assign them to a team. For those of you who don’t golf but would like to participate, tickets to the dinner only are available for $25 each. Activities at the dinner will include a raffle and live and silent auctions. Payroll deduction options are available for SCC faculty and staff members who would like to participate. We are seeking auction items for the live and silent auctions. Please call the Foundation Office if you have an item to donate. The event will raise funds for scholarships and programs at SCC.
