Faribault Campus Foundation Awards over $72,000 in Scholarships to South Central College Students
Faribault, MN - South Central College’s Faribault Campus Foundation provided $72,700.00 in scholarships to 78 freshmen and sophomore students, who will be attending SCC's Faribault Campus in 2012-13, during the college’s annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony held on Monday, April 30, 2012.
Keely Wardyn of Faribault was awarded the 2012 Presidential Scholarship. Keely will receive full tuition to complete her Liberal Arts degree at SCC. To qualify, Keely maintained a 3.75 or greater GPA while in high school as well as demonstrating strong leadership skills.
The purpose of the Faribault Campus Foundation is to promote post-secondary education in the Faribault area and support South Central College and its students through fund raising efforts focusing on scholarships, equipment, and staff development. Funding is provided through generous contributions by individuals and businesses, which support the Annual Fund Drive held each year by the Foundation. SCC President, Keith Stover, praised the efforts of the Foundation, “South Central College is grateful for the development of partnerships with business/industry and individuals that make these scholarships possible. These scholarships are necessary to offset the rising cost of tuition, books and fees and to help us acknowledge the scholarly work of our SCC students”
