South Central College has responded to those healthcare industry needs by adding many new healthcare programs, updating labs and equipment, and adding personnel to better serve our healthcare partners. South Central College is proud to announce that Julie Frederick, RN, MBA, has recently joined South Central College as a Healthcare Consultant.

Her role with the college will be two-fold: Serving SCC’s Center for Business and Industry (CBI) to assist healthcare businesses and organizations in meeting the need for a skilled workforce through employee and organizational education and training as well as serving the Department of Labor Healthcare Grant to establish continuing education and certification preparation for the fields of Pharmacy Technology, Medical Assisting, Health Unit Coordinators and Practical Nursing. Additionally, Julie will work with Health Support Specialist, Electronic Medical Records and Simulation programs.

Julie comes to SCC with twenty-five years of healthcare experience. Julie started her career as a Labor & Delivery nurse at ISJ Mankato. Through her career as a Nurse Manager and Director, Julie became involved in the consulting field as an expert in patient classification systems. For the past four years, Julie has been the Director of Solutions Management for Allscripts, a nationally/internationally known electronic medical record software company. Julie was responsible for the design, development and implementation of Barcode Medication Administration products throughout the Allscripts client base. Julie has an extensive presence in well-known, peer-reviewed healthcare publications, and she is an avid presenter at healthcare forums. She is active in numerous healthcare professional organizations as well as holding leadership roles in several community organizations.

Julie earned her associate degree in Nursing from Rochester Community College, her Bachelor in Science degree in Nursing from Minnesota State University – Mankato, and her Master’s in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University – Milwaukee, WI. Julie is currently working to obtain her Doctorate in Business Administration – Healthcare from Walden University.

Julie lives in Mankato with her husband Tom Frederick Jr. and their two daughters Kayla and Marissa.
