The South Central College Faribault Campus Foundation was founded in 1983 as the Faribault Area Vocational Technical Trust Association to promote community post-secondary education in the Faribault area.  The Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization governed by a board of directors comprised of individuals from the area, including South Central College alumni.

2006-2007 Summary of the Year

The South Central College Faribault Campus Foundation was founded in 1983 as the Faribault Area Vocational Technical Trust Association to promote community post-secondary education in the Faribault area.  The Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization governed by a board of directors comprised of individuals from the area, including South Central College alumni.

Using the theme Support the Journey for Lifelong Learning, under the leadership of volunteer fund drive co-chairs Todd & Lori Markman, the Foundation launched its 2006-07 annual fund drive with a goal of raising $115,000.  Many increased gifts from long-time donors and generous gifts from first-time donors resulted in a fund drive total of $130,513, a 20% increase over the previous year.

Thanks to the generosity of area businesses and individuals, the Foundation provided scholarships totaling $72,900 to 115 students for the 2007-08 academic year.

2007-08 Fund Drive Co-Chairs

John & Audrey Tobin have been a part of the community for the past 20 years.  John helped educate small business owners as a Small Business Management Instructor at South Central College and Audrey helped people of all ages make smart financial decisions as a Personal Banking Officer with Wells Fargo bank.  Recently retired, this civic and education-minded couple are leading the Faribault Campus Foundation in its 2007-08 fund drive to raise money for scholarships for students at South Central College.
