Faribault Campus Foundation Exceeds 2011-12 Fund Drive Goal
At the end of the fiscal year in June, the Faribault Campus Foundation celebrated surpassing the fund drive goal of $115,000! Nearly $115,000 in gifts and pledges were received from businesses and individuals in the community and our SCC faculty and staff, and combined with $14,000 in grant funding for Healthcare Pathways scholarships, a total of $128,660 was raised last year! During this same time, the Foundation paid out just over $90,000 in scholarships and another $4,000 in program support for the Faribault campus.

The Foundation is pleased to announce the completion of the Jean & Paul Gillis Endowment. An endowment is established when a donor makes a minimum gift of $10,000 in the form of a one-time gift or over a period of three years. Endowments provide scholarships for Faribault campus students from the interest earned.

Faribault Campus Foundation Receives High Score on MnSCU Annual Return on Investment Report
South Central College Faribault Campus Foundation is ranked 7th of the 43 Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) Foundations for the amount it gave back to South Central College in scholarships and program support in FY11. The annual report for FY11 (2010-11 fiscal year) was submitted to the system office in April, 2012. In June the Foundation Board of Directors learned that its return on investment of $4.70 for every $1.00 in public support was 7th highest in the system.

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises money exclusively for the Faribault campus. The work is accomplished by a team of over 40 volunteers supported by a part-time Executive Director with part-time administrative support. All MnSCU Foundations report annually to the MnSCU system office how much they have generated in revenue and how much they have spent to support the college and students. In addition, the report examines how much the college spends in support of the Foundation's work. Faribault Campus Foundation public support includes office space, a computer, telephone, copies, postage and some office supplies, as well as four hours of administrative support each week.

Faribault Campus Foundation Board Members
At the Faribault Campus Foundation's annual meeting on July 23, 2012 new officers and board members were elected. The officers for 2012- 13 are: Dave Pearson, Xcel Energy, President; Donna Kaspersen, Vice President; Doug Zahn, State Bank of Faribault, Secretary/Treasurer; and Cheryl Freund, At-Large Officer. Four new board members were elected: Carla Brady, US Bank; Richard Cook; Rick Miller, District One Hospital; and Paul Mooty, Faribault Woolen Mill Co. The following individuals complete the 2012-13 board membership: Brian Gjerde, I&S Group; Mike Gramse, MRG Tool & Die; Jerry Groskreutz, KDHL/ Power 96; Dr. Dick Huston; Bart Jackson, American Family Insurance; John Jasinski, MDC Real Estate Services and Dr. Richard Berge (honorary member).

2012-13 Fund Drive
Plans are still in the works for the 2012-13 community fund drive but the internal fund drive plan is in place and will begin Monday, September 17 at the first staff meeting of the year. We'll wrap things up with a thank you event on October 24th.
