The Faribault Campus Foundation’s 2012-13 community fund drive will kick off on Thursday, November 8. Kristen (Treadway) Koch with Treadway Graphics in Faribault is serving as the fund drive chair. The theme this year is Build a Future: Scholarships Transform Lives.
Kristen believes education transforms peoples’ lives. She’s committed to helping students at South Central College build a future and transform their lives just as she has helped businesses in her career with Treadway Graphics. Formerly an elementary school teacher, for 13 years she has been educating area business owners and helping them implement proven strategies to promote their business and develop employee award and recognition programs in order to grow. A graduate of the Blandin Foundation’s Community Leadership Program, Kristen has stepped up to lead the annual fund drive for scholarships for students at South Central College.
“Growing up, when my family talked about my future and higher education, we didn’t talk about “If…”, we talked about “Where...” Having South Central College right here in Faribault, and expanding to better serve our region, offers an affordable option for more of my friends and neighbors, and their children, to attend college. They can build a future and transform their lives with a college degree close to home.”
The community fund drive volunteers will try to wrap up their calls by December 17th. The Foundation will partner with the North Mankato Campus Foundation for the annual on-line auction at biddingforgood.com beginning January 29th.
The Internal Fund Drive Biggest Winner Campaign celebrated a record-breaking year on October 24 with a Big Reveal/Thank You Celebration! Ten teams competed to raise the most money to “transform lives through scholarships.” Over $34,600 was raised from SCC Faculty and Staff for both foundations. The Faribault campus exceeded last year’s giving and participation records with 81 individuals contributing $10,774!
