South Central College was officially notified by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, (letter dated June 23, 2010), and of action granting continued accreditation to the college. The next comprehensive evaluation by the Commission is scheduled for the 2019-2020 college year.
“Our students, faculty and staff have spent nearly two years preparing the self-study for the onsite visit by the Commission that was held in February of this year. This huge investment of time and effort created improvements to our college and its processes that will pay huge dividends for our students and employers in assuring and advancing the quality of our programs and services in the years to come,” stated President Keith Stover. “We are all extremely grateful to the Commission for granting our college continued accreditation.”
South Central College was granted initial accreditation on August 8, 1995. A copy of the SCC accreditation timeline can be found on the attached document.
An Institutional Accreditation Steering Committee, made up of faculty, staff and students, will continue this work to ensure that improvements are made that benefit the students of South Central College.
